30+ Years of Quality Service and Philanthropy for Balboa Thrift & Loan

SAN DIEGO (June 30, 2014) - From Southern to Central California, Balboa Thrift & Loan is continuing its commitment to providing personalized automobile and commercial real estate loans and enhancing its community involvement through philanthropic service and donations. Since Balboa Thrift first opened its doors in July, the company, headquartered in Chula Vista, has let its quality service do the talking. While many Thrift and Loans have gone through economic downturn over the past decade, Balboa Thrift has been able to expand to full service branches in Claremont, La Quinta, and Fresno with nearly 100 employees.

"Our employees are the face and voice of our company," said Debbie Escobedo, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. "We are committed to supporting our communities through volunteer time, financial sponsorships, team outings, and giving back which means we're more than just a loan company; we're part of the community.”

The company's mission includes providing quality products and services that are competitively priced, offering integrity, reliability and commitment to depositors and borrowers and providing a positive work environment and upward mobility for employees.

Along with its core mission of customer service, Balboa Thrift and its Board of Directors are philanthropic. Over the years, the loan company has supported and donated thousands of dollars to causes throughout Southern and Central California, including most recently sponsoring the San Diego Youth Symphony Community Opus Project in the South Bay. The Community Opus Project supports the arts for at-risk youth in San Diego County and helps provide after-school music programs.

Balboa Thrift and Loan Sponsors San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory’s Community Opus Project for South Bay Music Education

SAN DIEGO (May 18, 2014) –Balboa Thrift and Loan, an automobile and commercial real estate loan company headquartered in Chula Vista, is proud to sponsor Viva Musica!, a fundraiser for San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory’s (SDYS) Community Opus Project. SDYS launched the Opus Project in 2010 in partnership with the Chula Vista Elementary School District to make music education affordable and accessible for elementary school students.

http://www.sdys.org/files/u10931/Viva-Music-CV-FR---header.pngThe Community Opus Project began as a free after-school instrumental music instruction program at two schools, and grew each year to serve more schools. The positive effects of learning music were quickly apparent and within three years, the School District made the decision to reinstate its district-wide music program which had been cut more than 15 years earlier. For the 2013/14 school year, more than 3,000 students were receiving music lessons.

“As a company, we understand the importance of arts, music, and culture,” said Debbie Escobedo, Balboa Thrift’s Senior Vice President and Administrative Officer. “We understand that our financial business isn’t just a building in a city- we’re woven into our community through our services, employees, and their families. That’s why we enjoy supporting initiatives like San Diego Youth Symphony’s community music education projects.”

Balboa Thrift’s sponsorship of Viva Musica directly helps support the Community Opus Project’s after-school programs in Chula Vista.
